Christine Nagel's superb Theorema (Fendi) showed how much creative room there was left in the oriental category. Nagel is probabla the best in the world at this sort of fragrance, and when Theorema was discontinued she did the right thing: she reincarnated that beautiful structure as Ambre Soie, one of the best ambers around, rich but not overly opaque, lush but not too sweet, and with strange anisic notes that keep it interesting all the way through. Not cheap, but nice work.
