    Restoring Cream bewertet Paula so:

    Claims:
    To fight even more effectively against the aging of mature skin that is vulnerable to the loss of substance, slackening of features and deepening of wrinkles, researchers developed the Obsidian Mineral Complex3 with a potent trio of anti-aging active ingredients.

    Review:
    Are you concerned about deep wrinkles, loss of skin density, and sagging? Duh, like anyone isn’t? It seems the folks at Armani claim to have found the solution with their Obsidian Mineral Complex3. Oh, and, duh, it has to be mineral-based because calling anything in the world of makeup or skin-care “mineral” makes consumers throw their money to the wind. This product is no exception, it is money down the drain, providing no exceptional or even average benefit for skin.

    This daytime moisturizer with sunscreen deserves credit for including avobenzone for UVA protection, but the price is obnoxious. Sunscreen must be applied liberally to get the protection stated on the label. I ask you: How liberally are you going to apply this facial moisturizer knowing you’ll be spending close to $200 every month or so if you apply enough to gain the SPF 15 protection? The base formula is nothing to write home about either; it’s mostly water, slip agent, thickener, silicones, and alcohol (the drying, irritating kind, though it’s not likely to have a severe effect because only a small amount is present). For this amount of money, a product should be loaded to the brim with state-of-the-art ingredients, which it sorely lacks.

    As for the trio of minerals said to be active against signs of aging, they’re clearly an afterthought, as they are present in what amounts to nothing more than a dusting. The fictional story contrived around this formulation to convince women that spending this much on a daytime moisturizer with sunscreen is imperative to look younger is offensive, and it doesn’t have a drop of research or truth behind it. There is no research anywhere proving that minerals, whether from obsidian or some other rock, can have any effect on signs of aging or anything else. If deep wrinkles and sagging are your chief concerns, you won’t find the solution from Armani. One more comment: This contains several fragrance chemicals known to cause irritation, though they make up only a very small part of the formula.

    Ingredients:
    Active: Octocrylene (8%), Octisalate (5%), Avobenzone (2%), Other: Water, Glycerin, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Cyclohexasiloxane, Bis-Peg-18 Methyletherdimethyl Silane, Alcohol Denatured, Cetearyl Alcohol, Peg-20, Petrolathium, Shea Butter, Dimethyl Isosorbide, Cetyl Alcohol, Mannitol, Dimethicone, Phenoxyethanol, Hydroxypropyl Tetrahydropyrantriol, Octyldodecanol, Corn Oil, Perlite, Apricot Kernel Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Hydroxyapatite, Passiflora Edulis Seed Oil, Rice Bran Oil, Cetearyl Glucoside, Polyacrylamide, Peg-100 Stearate, Glyceryl Stearate, Wild Yam Root Extract, Hexyldecanol, Capryloyl Salicylic Acid, Methylparaben, C13-15 Isoparaffin, Xanthan Gum, Panthenol, Acrylates 10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Butylparaben, Disodium Edta, Dimethiconol, Sodium Hydroxide, Sodium Hyaluronate, Laureth-7, Cyclodextrin, Adenosine, Yeast Extract, Pentasodium Pentetate, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Ferrous Gluconate, Hexyl Cinnamal, Methylsilanol Mannuronate, Limonene, Linalool, Hydroxycitronellal, Benzyl Alcohol, Disodium Succinate, Alpha-Isomethylionone, Citronellol, Geraniol, Eugenol, Fragrance

    Die lotion, die wohl eher ein toner ist:
    Claims:
    A soothing toner that immediately leaves skin feeling luxuriously comfortable and supple. The ultra-light hydrating texture moisturizes and softens. Contains hyaluronic acid for an intense hydrating effect. Formulated with rose flower and peony root - extracts known for their calming properties - to soothe even the most sensitive skin.

    Review:
    Mineral Soothing Lotion almost leaves me speechless. Eighty dollars for an embarrassingly paltry formula of mostly water, slip agents, gel-based thickener, and preservatives. The tiny amount of water-binding agents and antioxidants is little consolation for an utterly ordinary toner that barely makes it to mediocre status. Clearly, the folks behind Armani know a lot more about creating makeup than they do about skin care!

    Ingredients:
    Water, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Peg-20, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Lactate, Potassium Pca, Methylsilanol Mannuronate, Methylparaben, Tetrasodium Edta, Sodium Hyaluronate, Citric Acid, Xanthan Gum, Peg-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Propylene Glycol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Rosa Gallica Flower Extract, Paeonia Suffruticosa Root Extract, Linalool, Fragrance

    @Zebra: gibt es nicht.
    @Noemi:

    Claims:
    Even now, it is not entirely clear how Crème de la Mer works. For us schooled in logic, it is something of a jolt to the imagination. But facts are facts and certainly the proof can be seen on the faces of those who use it. In a short time, skin becomes softer, firmer, looks virtually creaseless. Aging lines and pores are noticeably less visible. Even the driest of complexions are healed. Sensitivities are soothed. And, of course, there are some who insist it has produced astonishing results - as Dr. Max Huber witnessed. No wonder many who have tried every cream available remain steadfast in their devotion to Crème de la Mer.

    Review:
    Creme De La Mer is the original product created by Max Huber, as described in the brand summary for La Mer. As enticing as this dramatic story sounds, the reality is that this very basic cream doesn’t contain anything particularly extraordinary or unique, unless you want to believe that seaweed extract (sort of like seaweed tea) can in some way heal burns and scars. Even if it could, burns and scars don’t have much to do with wrinkling, and this product is now being sold as a wrinkle cream. According to Susan Brawley, professor of plant biology at the University of Maine, “Seaweed extract isn’t a rare, exotic, or expensive ingredient. Seaweed extract is readily available and [is] used in everything from cosmetics to food products and medical applications.” Creme de la Mer contains mostly seaweed extract, mineral oil, Vaseline, glycerin, waxlike thickening agents, lime extract, plant oils, plant seeds, minerals, vitamins, more thickeners, and preservatives. This rather standard moisturizer also contains some good antioxidants, but the jar packaging won’t keep them stable during use. This also contains a skin-stressing amount of eucalyptus oil, as well as Kathon CG, a preservative that is recommended for use only in rinse-off products. Consumers who have a “steadfast devotion” to this product are not only wasting their money but also hurting their skin.

    Ingredients:
    Seaweed (Algae) Extract, Mineral Oil (Paraffinum Liquidum), Petrolatum, Glycerin, Isohexadecane, Citrus Aurantifolia (Lime) Extract, Microcrystalline Wax, Lanolin Alcohol, Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed Oil, Eucalyptus Globulus (Eucalyptus) Leaf Oil, Magnesium Sulfate, Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed, Medicago Sativa (Alfalfa) Seed Powder, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seedcake, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Seed Meal, Sodium Gluconate, Potassium Gluconate, Copper Gluconate, Calcium Gluconate, Magnesium Gluconate, Zinc Gluconate, Paraffin, Tocopheryl Succinate, Niacin, Beta-Carotene, Decyl Oleate, Aluminum Distearate, Octyldodecanol, Citric Acid, Cyanocobalamin, Magnesium Stearate, Panthenol, Limonene, Geraniol, Linalool, Hydroxycitronellal, Citronellol, Benzyl Salicylate, Citral, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Alcohol Denat., Fragrance

    Claims:
    A lightweight moisturizing lotion formulation of Crème de la Mer, specially formulated for normal to dry skin types.

    Review:
    The Moisturizing Lotion would have been a good moisturizer for normal to dry skin, but for the inclusion of lime and eucalyptus extracts, which are potentially irritating and sensitizing for all skin types. And the price is just outrageous!

    Ingredients:
    Seaweed (Algae) Extract, Cyclopentasiloxane, Glyceryl Distearate, Butylene Glycol, Phenyl Trimethicone, Ethylhexyl Hydroxystearate, Petrolatum, Glyceryl Dilaurate, Steareth-10, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Dimethicone, Polysilicone-11, Cholesterol, Citrus Aurantifolia (Lime) Extract, Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed, Medicago Sativa (Alfalfa) Seed Powder, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seedcake, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Seed Meal, Eucalyptol, Sodium Gluconate, Potassium Gluconate, Copper Gluconate, Calcium Gluconate, Magnesium Gluconate, Zinc Gluconate, Tocopheryl Succinate, Niacin, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hibiscus Abelmoschuus Extract, Squalane, Tocopheryl Acetate, Linoleic Acid, Polyacrylamide, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Beta-Carotene, Hyaluronic Acid, Cyanocobalamin, Cetyl Alcohol, Polyquaternium-24, Isocetyl Stearoyl Stearate, Laureth-7, Fragrance, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Potassium Sorbate, Limonene, Geraniol, Citral, Linalool, Hydroxycitronellal, Citronellol, Benzyl Benzoate, Benzyl Salicylate, Disodium Edta, Trisodium Edta, Bht, Phenoxyethanol
